NBCUniversal and YouTube have announced a multi-year global strategic partnership. Under the plan, starting in early 2027, US YouTube Premium subscribers will have access to Peacock Premium. For Peacock, this means its content will gain further integration into the distribution systems of major platforms; for YouTube, it means continuing to add film, television, and sports content to its subscription service.

Content integration with YouTube

According to both parties, Peacock's content will be integrated into the YouTube experience, allowing users to discover and watch related content within the platform without leaving YouTube. Peacock's content library includes NFL and NBA broadcasts, as well as "Saturday Night Live," "Love Island USA," "Law & Order: SVU," and several reality shows from Bravo.

This partnership also further expands the subscription benefits of YouTube Premium. In recent years, YouTube has been continuously strengthening its role as a streaming gateway, hoping to bring together pay TV, live sports, and creator content on a single platform.

Peacock continues to expand its distribution.

As traditional media companies seek new growth, some are restructuring their businesses through mergers and acquisitions, but Peacock has chosen to continue expanding its distribution channels. The report mentions that Paramount Skydance has agreed to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, and Fox is also moving forward with its acquisition of Roku.

In contrast, Peacock prefers to place content on platforms where users have already gathered. Previously, Peacock had partnered with Amazon and Apple, and this agreement with YouTube is considered its largest distribution push to date.

Continue to expand after initial profitability

This partnership announcement came shortly after Peacock reported its first quarterly profit in the second quarter of 2026. The streaming service currently claims to have 48 million paid subscribers.

In addition to the US market, the partnership will extend to international operations. NBCUniversal's international streaming services Universal+ and Hayu will also launch in select markets via YouTube Premium.

In addition, starting later this summer, Peacock Premium will also be available as a standalone add-on subscription service through YouTube Primetime Channels. Peacock Premium is the ad-supported version, costing $10.99 per month; the ad-free Peacock Premium Plus has been available on YouTube Primetime Channels since late June.
