Dogecoin co-founder Billy Markus recently responded on social media to the question of "the most crypto thing I did this weekend," stating that he used DOGE to pay for a ride on the Vegas Loop in Las Vegas. While this didn't happen just this past weekend, he described the experience as one of his most typical crypto experiences.

The Boring Company once offered DOGE payment.

This statement corresponds to the payment feature previously launched by Elon Musk's The Boring Company. In July 2022, when the company opened its first Loop station outside the Las Vegas Convention Center, it announced that passengers could use Dogecoin to pay for fares.

Dogecoin was launched in 2013 by Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer. For Markus, completing a real-world payment using the token he helped create brought this early application back into the spotlight.

The crypto market weakened overall on Tuesday.

Alongside this lighthearted news was a general pullback in the crypto market. CoinGlass data showed that earlier on Tuesday, total market liquidations reached $604 million, with most major crypto assets declining, indicating a cooling of market risk appetite.

The report also mentioned that the decline in South Korean chip stocks dragged down the Kospi index by 11%, fueling risk aversion. Meanwhile, the US Senate has suspended the Clarity Act, and with only two weeks left before the summer recess on August 8, the bill's future remains uncertain.

DOGE fell more than 3%, and holdings declined in tandem.

As of press time, DOGE had fallen 3.57% in the past 24 hours to $0.07, and had fallen 4.51% over the past week. Open interest in DOGE-linked futures contracts also declined, indicating that some funds are withdrawing from related trading.

In another response to Bitcoin's continued weakness, Markus said the market downturn was "quite boring" and that investors' attention spans were short.
