OpenSea has resumed support for Solana NFT, and Solana collectibles have once again returned to the top of the NFT trading platform. Previously, in 2022, the platform launched a test version for Solana NFT before subsequently ending related support.

Reconnect after four years.

After this restoration of support, OpenSea users will be able to trade NFT assets and related products based on Solana again. Reports mention that the cumulative trading volume of OpenSea has exceeded 48.9 billion US dollars, and the return of Solana NFT also allows existing platform users to access more blockchain collectibles that are not part of the EVM ecosystem.

During the early testing phase, OpenSea introduced 165 Solana native NFT series products. However, the context of their re-integration today is no longer the same as in 2021, when the market was dominated by avatar-related projects. In the current Solana collection ecosystem, more projects are now focusing on real-world assets on the blockchain, including trading cards, watches, and other categories.

Solana Changes in the collection structure

The report suggests that the NFT market has not completely disappeared; instead, it has shifted from highly speculative avatar-based assets to a more niche direction of on-chain collectibles. NFT, which was once popular in mainstream markets, now sees significantly lower transaction activity compared to its peak period.

At the same time, there is an increasing number of attempts to tokenize collectibles and some physical assets and put them onto blockchain. After OpenSea resumes support for Solana, its existing user base will also have easier access to the new collectible projects on Solana, as well as the classic NFT series from earlier times on that chain.

$ SEA Token progress remains unclear

However, the platform's re-integration of Solana has once again drawn users' attention to the native token $SEA of OpenSea. Reports mention that OpenSea had announced in February 2025 that it would distribute tokens to the community, but the related plans have not yet been implemented to this day.

According to previous statements, $ SEA was originally scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2025, but the team later decided to postpone it, citing the need to wait for a more suitable market environment. Since then, some users have expressed dissatisfaction with the platform's continuous promotional activities, and there have also been doubts about whether the token will be launched as planned.
